My client is a global leader within its market place. They produce specialist products for a variety of industries including automotive, aerospace, commercial transportation and industrial markets. Their customers are large blue chip global organisations.
The Role
Finance Director required to provide a dynamic, efficient and effective system of financial management and control, which complies with or surpasses all internal and statutory requirements and which results in significant and sustained improvement in company business performance.
The post requires an individual who will be fundamentally involved in determining the strategic direction of the business and prepared to get involved with all areas and bring fresh ideas to the table. Leading a well-established team your main responsibilities will include:
- Responsibility for the timely and accurate reporting of financial and management accounts.
- Budgeting and forecasting.
- Review all capital proposals to ensure risks are understood and business case is justifiable.
- Provide financial leadership, strategic and operational advice & guidance to UK business and senior management.
- Guide improvements in all financial aspects of the ERP system, particularly better costing information.
- Cash management & treasury. Identify & cover currency exposure risks.
Candidates will be able to demonstrate:
- Sound knowledge of UK legal & tax compliance, UK/US GAAP & Sarbanes-Oxley.
- A proven track record of people/systems development in a changing environment.
- Proven track record in a complex multinational business. Preferably manufacturing/engineering based.
- First class communication/presentation and people management skills.
- IT literate in SAP/Oracle.
- Degree qualified, ideally a business related subject.
You will be a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or CIMA) with skills that will have been developed in a manufacturing or engineering environment. The role demands an individual who is either a successful Financial Controller/Director or someone with innate ability and intelligence who is looking to take the next step in their career.
