We are looking for a Finance Director with the presence, business understanding and influencing skill needed both for this major role and later global career moves.
This appointment will be made with a very clear focus on the future, both for the company and the individual. The immediate task will be central to the commercial development of one of the country’s major manufacturing businesses, which is in turn part of a truly global organisation, and it will focus on both identifying ways of improving current financial performance and managing long term large-scale strategic developments.
The company culture, at both group and local level, places an emphasis on Senior Managers having a close involvement in real world issues, so while an ability to analyse will be taken as read, the talent to influence and implement will be an even more crucial deciding factor. For our best candidates, therefore, an Accountancy qualification will have been a prelude to a wider business education – both practical and academic. Experience of getting the best from high level ERP systems will be helpful, but the most important criteria will be the ability to take on a more senior operational or financial specialist job in the near future, and even bigger group roles in due course. International mobility will therefore be vital, and the prospect of global career moves ought to be a very positive attraction.
