Job description

My client is a market leader in the design and supply of specialist equipment to the healthcare industry, primarily the NHS. Successful and forward thinking they operate from very impressive premises based close to the M62 in West Yorkshire. This will be their first FD, managing an existing and well run finance and admin function consisting of 6 staff and reporting directly to the MD who is also the founder and main shareholder. One of the most important elements of the role will be presenting major business plans to customers at board level, demonstrating with a high degree of financial credibility the benefits of contracting to use the company’s products and services. They have also developed a franchise model enabling investors to set up as independent distributors of their products. You will play a key role in demonstrating the commercial viability of these ventures to potential investors. There would also be an opportunity to take an equity stake in these businesses. At some point in the future the capital structure of the business will change and this role will be responsible for exploring and evaluating all potential options available to the business. This role is suitable for a qualified Accountant who is very comfortable in a customer facing role as well as being a very capable all-round Financial Manager. Possibly a manager from within a chartered practice, or a Financial Manager from industry with some knowledge of the NHS or the healthcare supply market.
