Job description
My client which is a global leader in the Telecommunications arena is searching for a Finance Leader from Brazil with the potential to assume additional responsibility as Regional Leader for Latin America - legal entities in Brazil and Mexico (with responsibility for the LA sub-region - all countries in Latin America excluding Brazil and Mexico). The selected candidate has overall responsibility for preparing financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. The position includes one staff and is expected to grow. Competencies include Microsiga and/or Oracle software, understanding of tax legislation (DIPJ, ICMS, PIS, COFINS, LALUR. Responsibilities: partner with Brazil Country Manager and Regional Sales VP to prepare annual operating plans and monthly forecasts and ensure actual business performance is in-line with budget; perform/coordinate the recording of special journal entries into the system (accruals, provisions, taxes, expenses, payroll, FX translation, depreciations, etc); oversees the recording and balances of prepaid, other debtors and other assets; ensures proper inventory controls are implemented and maintained (ie cycle counts, physical inventory, E&O reserve analysis); assists and prepare reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) providing all information required by corporate entities (revenues, bookings, expenses, inventories, accounts reconciliations, etc); assists with the annual audit; oversees the recording of I/C transactions, netting process and monthly confirmation; supervises payroll calculation and ensure accurate payment, including benefits, deductions and the related taxes; participate in all supplier and customer agreements and governmental procedures.
