Job description

Advantage Professional Finance is currently recruiting a Finance Manager on a contract basis. This role based in Bolton is initially on a 12-month contract, however for the right candidate it could last until April 2012. Covering maternity leave, you would be working for an established distribution company. Reporting to the FD, the varied role involves a wide range of financial activities as well as working in a commercial support capacity. The overall duties involve: financial accounting and management reporting duties; staff management of four finance staff, responsible for the maintenance of the basic ledgers and payroll; preparation of monthly accounting statements for Group consolidation and the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts; complete all statutory filings on behalf of the company; play an active and high profile part within the business; delivering commercial support and financial advice to the business. This hands-on role requires a qualified Accountant with a recognised accountancy body such as ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent. You must have strong technical accountancy skills working to tight deadlines of a 4 day month end. Working closely with the FD and non-finance senior management, you must be able to demonstrate previous experience of this either in a specific project or in your day-to-day role currently. It is essential that you can influence people and operational activities, along with being a good people person. Previous staff management experience is essential. Ideally you will have worked in a distribution or manufacturing industry. Excel skills are needed at an advanced level, ideally along with previous knowledge of Sage 200. This role is paying up to £40,000 plus company benefits, pension, 23 days’ holidays plus statutory days.
