Job description
University of Essex Commercial Services Ltd (UECS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Essex. The UECS Finance team has grown relatively rapidly over recent years, responding to the business needs of the organisation. Due to continued growth a unique opportunity has arisen to join our evolving Finance team within the University of Essex Commercial Services Limited (UECS). Working as a business partner with the Senior Management team that you will support, you will be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely financial information, financial management and provision of ad hoc financial modelling. This is a key position within the UECS Finance Section, taking responsibility for leading the Finance support for three key business units, Hospitality Essex, Essex Sport & the Day Nursery. Duties include: responsible to the Head of Finance; responsible for Finance Assistant; responsibility for providing weekly, monthly and ad hoc financial information to the General Managers and UECS Senior Management team to enable them to meet the objectives for the individual business units that this role supports; the post holder will be responsible for ensuring the validity of payroll information between iTrent and Agresso and developing staff cost forecasting for budgeting purposes and for the business units that the role supports. Skills/experience: CCAB professional accountancy qualification or equivalent; advanced in Excel; experience of working with a well known financial management system, preferably Agresso.
