Job description
Our client, a leading Insurance company, is currently seeking a Financial Controller to join their Employee Benefit Division. This challenging role requires you to manage a small team and report into the Director of Financial Operations. Your responsibilities will include: four direct reporting lines, and responsibility for 18 profit centres, across 4 divisions throughout the UK, reporting on revenue streams of 60% of a business totalling &140million; budgetary control work, including meetings with profit centre managers and variance analysis work for preparation of reports to the senior management team and non financial colleagues (some travel expected); managing accountability to internal and external clients including working within FSA regulations; develop new and improve existing MI provided to the business; develop systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective profitability of the company’s divisions and client accounts; recommend changes that will improve the company’s financial performance and financial controls; staff management, reviews and development. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in the industry. The candidate must have a sound understanding of FSA regulations and system implementation experience. Candidates will also display excellent excel knowledge combined with strong communication skills. Where UK qualifications are specified we will take into account overseas equivalents.
