Job description

A Finance Manager is required to work in a stand-alone role and manage a small Finance team. Specific duties include: liaising with other departments & non-finance people; handling large cash volumes; daily bookkeeping; processing sales invoices, receipts & payments; preparing VAT returns & bank reconciliations; preparing cash flow statements, statutory accounts & management accounts; preparing management information for ad hoc projects; monthly reporting, year end accounts, profit & loss accounts & balance sheets. This is an excellent opportunity to work for an organisation that is going through a positive period of change and there is some solid career progression on offer. You will need to be a qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) as well as being a confident, strong character with excellent communication skills. You will have a lot of patience and you will be a self-starter who is happy to work on their own as well as part of a small team. You will be conversant with Sage Line 50 and you must be able to demonstrate strong leadership qualities. You will be able to prioritise your workload and explain finance terminology in simple terms to non-finance people. In addition, you will be a trustworthy individual who can offer extensive accounting experience to the business and you will also have had experience of preparing VAT returns and processing payroll. You will have good attention to detail and you will be keen to do the job accurately. You will be keen to make a difference and will have the inclination to make a difference. You need to be adaptable to change and you will possess a good understanding of Word & Excel.
