Job description
My client, a well known Higher Education provider, is now looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join its team on a permanent basis in a new and forward-thinking role. Key responsibilities of the Finance Manager will include: to set up & manage a new Departmental Finance function, including job responsibilities, staff management & development; develop & manage the departments budgetary control and management accounting systems & processes; produce monthly reports, details variance analysis, forecasts and key performance indicators; prepare year end statements; carry out financial appraisal for new business and submit business cases; develop information to assist business optimisation across the department; manage, develop and support a small team. The ideal Finance Manager will possess the following attributes/skills: qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA); extensive experience of producing management accounts, leading a budget process and presenting financial data; experience of managing staff and setting up a new finance function; experience of using multiple financial computer systems; Agresso 5.5 & Microsoft would be an advantage; costing and pricing experience; excellent standard of written & verbal communication, ability to negotiate & influence others; a team player who demonstrates sound judgement & decisions under pressure and is able meet deadlines, work unsupervised and plan & progress work using own initiative & judgement. This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate to implement change and create a focused finance function in a large and well known organisation.
