Job description
My client, a leading UK distribution company, is seeking a Finance Manager. Reporting into the FC the role purpose is the provision of accurate and timely provision of financial information, following company and industry guidelines, working closely with operational management to identify and assist in the achievement of targets within an environment of continual improvement. Key accountabilities include: budget and rolling forecasts including detailed variance analysis and commentary; providing financial information, and working closely with operations management (including third parties) to assist in decision-making; identifying cost reductions and efficiency improvements; managing weekly and period end accounts and balance sheet reconciliations. You will also manage and motivate an Accounts Assistant. The ideal candidate will have experience in the production of detailed budgets, forecasts and full variance analysis in an operations environment (ideally logistics but not essential). There is a potentially significant amount of travelling involved within the role, maximum 2 days a week.
