Job description
An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant (fixed term contract) to join a reputable Research organisation based in West Lothian. The successful applicant will manage the Financial Accounting function for UK operations. You will prepare draft statutory accounts, which are compliant with all relevant accounting standards. Specific tasks: coordinate the intercompany reconciliation process to ensure intercompany transactions with the UK entities are correctly accounted; UK group VAT reporting, analysis and compliance - VAT returns, imports, exports and other information as required by HMRC; UK group payroll reporting and reconciliations and management of Payroll Manager; preparation of UK Corporation tax analysis and computations supporting Corporate Tax team; ensure accounts are fully reconciled and reconciling items are cleared monthly; support information requests received from External Auditors and coordinate site visits as required; develop financial policies and procedures and ensure compliance. The ideal candidate: must be a professionally qualified Accountant; must have sound knowledge of UK VAT legislation and ideally corporation tax requirements; must be able to demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills coupled with strong Excel skills with ability to effectively analyse large volumes of data.
