Job description
As the result of career advancement a challenging and unique opportunity has arisen to join the team as a Financial Accountant and we are seeking applications from either qualified CCAB Accountants (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA) or individuals studying and committed to qualifying. The role: maintain the general ledger and fixed asset register for accuracy and consistency; ensure the smooth running of the Cashiers function and HE student finance income; ensure the smooth running of the Payroll function; be responsible for treasury management of college funds in line with financial regulations; ensure the accuracy and timeliness of payments to staff and students via BACS; monitor and reconcile the college floats and petty cash; ensure the accuracy and timeliness of various returns ie VAT, TPA, P35, statistic office returns; ensure accurate payments to agencies re court orders/attachment of earnings; ensure compliance with inland revenue requirements regarding ad hoc payments/benefits to employees; review travel claims/overseas expenses in line with financial procedures and inland revenue guidelines; maintain and store all relevant paperwork and documentation as per legal requirements. We seek applications from individuals who can demonstrate strong communication skills both written and verbal, possess strong IT skills and have the ability to work to tight deadlines.
