Job description

Our client, a Financial Services company, is recruiting a Financial Accountant, working within a Financial Reporting & Control team, which has responsibility for: the preparation, control and reporting of financial accounting and regulatory information for the group; assisting with the input, reconciliation, review & reporting of the group’s revenue information; preparation and review of monthly trial balances and accounts for retail statutory entities within the group; review of accounting information provided by external administrators including development of procedures and proactive investigation of issues therein; preparation of monthly FSA solvency information and quarterly FSA returns for the regulated entities; preparation of annual statutory accounts for the retail statutory entities, including liaison with External Auditors and company officers; review and development of processes and procedures to accommodate business changes; ad hoc departmental tasks. The candidate should have a strong interest in working in a financial reporting environment and should either have experience of this type of environment in the Financial Services sector and be studying towards their professional exams. You must have a proactive and challenging approach, with the ability to understand the business and to identify and solve problems.
