Job description
As a result of an internal promotion, an opportunity has arisen with our leading Energy Generation and Supply client. They seek applications from highly ambitious audit professionals from a Top 10 Practice or existing Financial Accountants from a PLC (or similar). Reporting to the Head of Technical Accounting, you will: be responsible for aspects of the monthly/annual reporting; provide accounting advice to the UK business; assist with accounting advice and entries required on projects on an ad hoc basis, eg M&A activity, group restructurings, system changes; provide training for finance personnel across the organisation. Key activities: assistance in the preparation of the UK group statutory financial statements (IFRS) & Financial statement preparation for central companies (UK GAAP/IFRS); monthly reporting responsibilities for central companies; liaison with external audit; liaison with Corporate Centre in Germany on accounting related issues. Suitable applicants will have: a recognised accounting qualification; knowledge of IFRS & UK GAAP; experience of group consolidations; ability to work well within teams of all sizes; high level of self-motivation and drive; ability to identify and analyse situations by isolating key issues, evaluating relevant data and drawing appropriate conclusions; excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders; IT literate, with Excel being a prerequisite.
