Job description
Duties and responsibilities: month end financial reporting; to provide information and support to external consultants to ensure that all local regulations/requirements are met and any local specific adjustments (eg local tax accruals) are appropriately reflected for group reporting; to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the information contained in the accounting system; to work with EMEAAP and US Finance, tax and other external advisors to provide/compile the necessary documentation to complete the periodic filings needed (eg VAT and WHT returns, local cash flow filings) and ensure all filings are done on a timely basis; to assist in month end, quarter-end and year end closes in adherence to corporate timetable (eg VAT/corporation tax reconciliations, accruals, etc) ensuring that any issues are resolved in a timely manner; to assist in the production of UK statutory accounts for three companies including the consolidation of different functional currency sub-ledgers under UK GAAP as well as any other overseas entities produced out of London (currently South Africa and Nigeria); to provide guidance and support to the business on technical accounting matters; to assist in projects related to process improvement of the financial control environment; to work with Line Manager and colleagues to support these activities ensuring at all times compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley, internal audit and other requirements, ensuring that any weaknesses are identified and addressed in a timely manner; to assist in audits and other statutory tax audits by preparing audit files and supporting statements as directed by Line Manager; to deal with ad hoc queries and issues as they arise, as directed by Line Manager. Qualifications, experience & skills: a degree holder with ACCA part-qualified status is preferred.
