Job description
My client is a multinational leader in its field. After a period of consolidation in 2009 & 2010 they have growth predicted for 2011/2012. Due to an internal promotion they now have a requirement for a 1st class Financial Accountant. Purpose of the position: to lead and manage the ongoing development of the general ledger and accounts payable section; improving financial controls and accuracy of business reporting; liaise with all support functions throughout. Key responsibilities: liaise with central and corporate finance to comply with UK and US GAAP; ensure that statutory accounting and Sarbanes-Oxley schedules are produced accurately and on time; ensure that the company complies with all customs & excise and inland revenue requirements; maintain the general ledger and all subsidiary ledgers in both UK and Ireland; full participation in continuous business and internal control process improvement projects; ensure the implementation within the department of quality, health and safety and all other company policies and procedures; coordinate and lead annual audit lead and/or participate in improvement projects; other duties as required by the FC. Required experience: qualified Accountant, with a experience in a similar role, preferably gained in distribution or multi-site business; broad understanding of business needs with excellent analytical and communication skills; used to working with non-Finance Managers.
