Job description
Our client is looking for a Financial Accountant. It is important that you have worked in a similar position in the past. You must have the ability to carry out the majority of the duties listed along with the capability and hunger to grow into the remainder of the role. Key responsibilities: to manage a team of 8 staff analyse the weekly bank statement/update the weekly cash flow analysis; update the full year forecast taking into account changes in the income and expenditure forecast and other changes; liaise with the insurers on all claims matters; prepare detailed annual schedules; prepare the quarterly VAT returns; to provide support in the process of preparation of the statutory accounts; to ensure staff are reimbursed promptly through payroll for travel and related expenses; to manage the Payments function to ensure orders are raised promptly, commitments registered on the Finance system and payments made accurately and promptly to suppliers; to manage the procurement card and credit card method methods of payment to ensure that the transactions are fully receipted and charged to the correct cost centres; ensure all monthly reconciliation are completed, filed, and signed off; ensure cash is banked promptly, invoices raised and debt collected; ensure the accurate postings of income to the management accounts; partake in financial meetings; prepare management reports; liaise with external organisations. You will be given the opportunity to develop with the organisation and play a part in the development of the Finance office. There is the possibility that you could develop into a managerial position in the future. It is vital that you are IT literate with good experience of accounting packages. It would be beneficial to your application if you have experience of symmetry software.
