Job description
A one-year contract opportunity has arisen in Portsmouth for a qualified Financial Accountant. Working within technical/engineering environment the role will be to manage an accountancy team consisting of Assistant Financial Accountant, AP Supervisor, Payroll & Pension Supervisor and Sales Ledger Administrator. The key responsibilities will include: provision of timely and accurate financial accounts and regulatory information; producing statutory accounts, tax packs; supporting external and internal audits; ensuring timely internal and external payments; ensuring compliance with mandated financial policies and controls; managing the interface with central Finance team. The role would be suitable for an ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified Accountant with considerable post qualified experience in Financial Accounting. The suitable candidate will have experience working within large company environment ideally within engineering/manufacturing sectors. Sound knowledge of finance/legislative requirements and compliance with UK GAAP are essential. The suitable candidate will have previous team management experience and ability to influence at all levels. Strong analytical and It skills are essential specifically Excel.
