Job description
This company owns and operates a retail chain on Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands (TCI) as well as managing another service business that supplies food to the hotels and restaurants. The holding company has other businesses in the TCI, which will provide additional opportunities for career development. Providenciales is the main island in the TCI. The TCI is a British Crown colony in the Caribbean with a UK appointed Governor and a locally elected Government - similar to Bermuda and The Cayman Islands. The island is 550 miles from Miami and there are numerous daily flights to and from the US as well as a weekly BA flight from London. The Island is growing rapidly and is a prime upmarket tourist destination with world-class beaches, scuba diving, fishing and water sports. The local language is English. The role will include: managing all transactional accounting processes within the Financial Accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, weekly payroll, cashing up and sales; managing a team of four bookkeepers, ensuring that job responsibilities are being performed in a complete and timely manner as well as employee performance reviews being undertaken on a regular basis; implementing and improving accounting processes and procedures to improve team efficiency and drive profitability of the business; weekly reporting of KPIs to Senior Management and stakeholders; ad hoc finance related projects as required. Requirements: experience managing of staff; good technical ability & attention to detail; flexible approach to problems; able to communicate with a diverse audience, including staff with a non-finance related background; reporting line.
