Job description
Responsibilities: responsible for performing all client specific, non-standard, non-routine accounting transactions; resolve all sector/client specific operating and accounting related issues; assist with contract accounting matters and participates in ensuring that appropriate decisions are made regarding accounting transactions; interface with Business Partnering to understand and act on contract specific issues and provide input to budgets and forecasts; provide interface and process support with the Business Accounting Shared Services teams in terms of timely approvals, transaction initiations/requests and source date accuracy where relevant; provide interface with the Business Accounting team and provide directions and instruction as required; review the accounting transactions on an ongoing basis and validate Business Accounting team transactions; maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and audit responsibility; foster a continuous improvement environment both within the Industry Vertical and the wider finance community; work cooperatively with the Business Partnering teams at large to encourage compliance and efficiency of financial processes. The ideal candidate will be qualified with commercial experience gained within large companies and will have previous experience of delivering and owning month end numbers to Business Managers. There may be some travel required, up to 1 week per month to Birmingham.
