Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen within one of the UK’s most well known companies. Established nearly 100 years ago it currently employs more than 4000 staff with turnover around £2.5 billion per year. This is an excellent opportunity for a results focused, hard working individual to make a direct impact within the Finance department of this prestigious business. Reporting to the Cost of Sales Controller the role will involve close collaboration with the Purchase department and the Project Purchase Controller. The main purpose of the role is maintenance of data and provision of financial information regarding relevant cost centres. This will include tracking purchase price variances and producing weekly reports, control of Purchase department’s operating costs, controlling and reporting expenditure, ensuring adherence to approved budgets & pay back calculations for one of the Engineering departments, undertaking ad hoc projects within the Finance Purchase Controlling function and investigation and problem resolution with regard to issues in the function. Suitable candidates must be at least CIMA part-qualified. Experience of working within a manufacturing environment would be beneficial, as would experience of SAP, however these are not absolute prerequisites. Candidates must have good Excel skills and have previously worked in a similar Financial Analyst role.
