Job description
Our client, one of the foremost global mining businesses, boasting some of the most lucrative contracts internationally, seeks an outstanding and ambitious Financial Analyst, distinguished amongst their peers, to provide crucial advice on M&A and similar projects with values from tens of millions to billions of pounds. The successful candidate will advise senior management on the value of potential investments to the company, taking account of all possible methods of execution. Reporting to the Head of M&A, they will also assist project sponsors and investment committees to decide whether proposals are value creating, building and reviewing financial models as necessary to achieve this. The successful candidate will also be responsible, on an ad hoc basis, for advising project sponsors on navigating internal procedures and determining any expert advice necessary. This is a relatively rare opportunity for the very strongest of candidates to continue a corporate finance career in one of the most interesting in-house environments available, with huge opportunity for horizontal and vertical career development. It is essential that the candidate is ACA qualified from a ‘Top 4’ practice, with an excellent degree from a Russell Group university and/or an MBA from a highly ranked business school. It is highly likely that they will come direct from practice, where they will have an excellent record, working on business critical transactions. It is also possible that they will come from a similar role in a highly prestigious listed group.
