Job description
Our client, a Financial institution, is recruiting a Financial Analyst. You will assist the Head of Management Accounting to maintain and further develop the Management Accounting function. Your main responsibilities are: assist in producing the analysis for and production of, the monthly management committee report and accompanying commentary; act as the primary finance contact for specific areas of the bank to ensure they have a full understanding of their financials; production of other customer reporting, including divisional/cost centre reporting, and head-office reporting; assist with the preparation of the annual expense budget and forecasts for the London branch; analyse expense trends and provide commentary on performance against budget, forecast and prior periods; assist with the London branch expense allocation processes; review and approval of expenses using in-house system; preparation of month-end accruals and prepayments; provide support and cover for the rest of the Management Accounting team as required (ie fixed asset reporting). Qualified Accountant or Finalist (ie CIMA, ACCA) and degree educated (or equivalent), you must have a good understanding of accounting concepts and experience in budgeting and forecasting. You must have an advanced MS Excel with macro programming skills. Experience of using Cognos Planning Analyst, SunAccounts, Vision, or Hyperion is an advantage.
