Financial Analyst
PepsiCo is looking for an ambitious qualified Accountant to join their UK head office team.
We spend around £60 million a year to market our Walkers, Tropicana and Quaker brands. So it’s important to manage it well. That’s where you come in. You’ll be reporting and forecasting, providing advice, and ensuring that the budget is managed in line with our strict financial controls. You’ll also be involved in a variety of projects, be they operational or commercially focused.
This is a terrific department for a qualified Accountant, and a great introduction to corporate environment. You’ll work closely with the functional teams as well as senior members of the Finance department. Once settled you will be given a lot of autonomy to advise them, challenge them and ultimately help them make smart spending decisions.

- Managing your specific functional budget through liaison with the Leadership team.
- Manage budget reviews, hosting periodic reviews with function team to ensure compliance with brand/team budgets.
- Ensure spend and financial reporting is 100% compliant to PepsiCo Financial Policy.
- Develop relationships with key suppliers to key ensure clarity on billing processes (upfront payments, etc).
- Provide analysis and support for commercial projects as required eg support marketers with provision of brand profitability analysis and recommendations to improve, assistance with commercial activation projects etc.
- Own all period-end reporting for your function, providing detailed analysis of period and YTD results.
- Provide analytical support to the quarterly forecasts ensuring sites have all the relevant data to compete accurate forecasts and are aligned to targets.
- Perform ad hoc analysis for the Logistics team and the wider Finance teams.
Key Skills and Experience
- Qualified Accountant, ideally trained in practice or within the FMCG industry.
- Excellent academic track record.
- Understanding budgets and reporting of actual costs including preparation of accruals and prepayments.
- Confidence to interact and challenge Senior Managers, reviewing budgets and course correcting where appropriate.
- Ability to analyse and quickly recognise financial budget risks and communicate to Senior Managers.
- Knowledge of Oracle GL and sound accounting knowledge (accruals/prepayments, journal posting, budget management).
- Ability to work with a great deal of autonomy but with skills to appreciate when to escalate issues.
- Good spreadsheet and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- High level of integrity and trust (managing large budget with corresponding Sarbanes-Oxley controls).
- Sound overall knowledge of different business systems (Sales, Ops, Financial) and processes desirable.
