Job description
A well-established firm with a lucrative client base requires a Financial Assistant/Bookkeeper. Key responsibilities: posting of daily receipts onto in-house database system and to Sage; recording of bank payments on to Sage, on a daily basis; banking of dividend receipts and other client monies into appropriate bank accounts; posting of rechargeable staff expenses to the Work in Progress on the company’s in-house database system each month; coding purchase ledger bills; arranging payment of bills as they become due and post to Sage; maintenance of purchase ledger including communication with clients to ensure all accounts are reconciled and accurate; analysis and posting of petty cash and credit card payments; approval and submission of timesheets on a weekly basis, completion/creation of timesheets for colleagues; printing of Debtor statements and sending to clients; printing and distribution of Work in Progress and Debtor reports to portfolio holders on a fortnightly basis; perform day-to-day credit control, including telephoning clients regrading outstanding invoices and coordinating legal action. Preferred knowledge and experience: Sage Line 50, Excel, Word and Outlook; experience of having worked in a professional practice environment would be preferable.
