Job description
Our client, a leading Investment Bank, is looking for a qualified Accountant to join the Financial Control team of a subsidiary of the company. The role is for 11 months to cover a maternity contract and candidates would need to be available to start by the end of the month. The role will be high profile, exciting and dynamic with senior management liaison; monthly validation and analytical review of balance sheet under both UK and US GAAP; reconciliation and ownership of overhead balance sheet and P&L accounts for the purposes of month end sign off; preparation of monthly management accounts and commentary for the management committee and quarterly management reports for the Board & Audit Committee; preparation of certain monthly and quarterly regulatory returns under both UK and US GAAP; central point of contact for all other legal entity Controller information requests (tax, treasury, accounting policy, financial risk control etc); day-to-day supervision of a junior staff member. Skills & experience: financial & regulatory control experience advantageous; qualified Accountant essential; appropriate amount of experience within financial institutions; strong communication skills and ability to gain credibility with senior management; ability to work in a team environment; attention to detail and accuracy.
