Job description
Our client is looking for a qualified Financial Controller to join this charitable organisation in the Gloucestershire area. Main duties: responsible for: production of monthly management accounts and associated written reports for each reporting entity to the deadlines set by central finance; reporting results to the Management team- Investigation, analysis and explanations of variances between budgeted and actual performance; production of a detailed annual budget for each entity; preparation of cost data and business plans in support of bids for new initiatives; maintaining an overview of ledgers and ensuring correct posting of invoices and journals, accruals and prepayments; authorising supplier payments via BACS and signing cheques; reconciling each balance sheet on a regular basis; organising annual stock counts where necessary; drafting and maintaining a set of accounting policies & procedures for each entity, taking account of the policies and procedures of the parent charity; working with central finance and the External Auditors, planning the annual audit; documenting financial control & reporting systems for the reporting entities; producing and updating business plans and financial models in support of major capital grant bids as and when they arise; where grants are received, liaison with funding bodies and ensuring their reporting needs are met and ensuring systems of grant drawdown are in place and effective; management experience is key for this position.
