Job description
New vacancy for interim European FC. This is an immediate London based temporary vacancy for a professionally trained Chartered Accountant to join an international business as Financial Controller for Europe. The Financial Controller is responsible for managing, advising and supporting the region on the balance sheet, P&L and financial and control issues. They will be a specialist on complex technical and financial/tax matters. Duties: manage the Finances of the region and ensure that all internal controls and financial policies set by the group are applied and adhered to; improve visibility and importance of finance within the region, ensuring buy-in from all other operational areas; ensure that internal and external reporting requirements are met; insuring direct and indirect tax compliance with the region; monitor regional spending against approved budget; prepare monthly operating expense forecast and annual budget; establish an efficient Finance function in the region; ad hoc projects required by region or group finance; ensure the monthly closing for several entities; balance sheet reconciliations and P&L review and analysis; intercompany re-charge and reconciliation; cash flow management; liaise with Internal and External Auditors and local authorities; working closely with the overseas shared services centre. The job would suit a professionally trained, qualified Accountant - ideally candidates will have trained within a Top 4 firm. This is a busy role and candidates must be happy to work proactively and independently. Candidates should have a good knowledge of IFRS and ideally previous experience of using Oracle 11i. This is an immediate, interim position whilst the company recruits the role on a permanent basis - the successful interim candidate will also be considered for the permanent vacancy.
