Morgan McKinley is working with Riverford Organic in Devon, to recruit a Financial Controller. Riverford is a pioneer of organic veg boxes and has grown to become the UK’s largest organic home delivery business with a turnover of around £45 million. Behind this organisation there is a passionate force of growers, franchisees, customers, staff and cooks who are all involved which creates a great buzz about their products. Riverford is proud to have won awards ranging from Best Organic Retailer to the Observer’s Best Ethical Business. As well as veg boxes Riverford now supply meat and dairy as well as a wide range of other produce from farmers around the world. Responsibilities of the role will be diverse, and this is a great opportunity to join an energetic, forward-thinking team in an expanding and fast moving business. Managing a team of 10 (4 direct reports), you will be required to prepare statutory accounts, produce KPIs, manage the financial processes and procedures of other parts of the Riverford business to include the meat operation and restaurants. Other areas of responsibility will include cash flow forecasting, management of financial processes and procedures, and treasury management. The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified Accountant with strong leadership, dynamism and influencing skills. You will be confident, self sufficient and forward-thinking with strong commercial awareness, and food or manufacturing experience would be highly advantageous.
