Job description

Originally built in 1991, my client a well-known Golf Club boasts two magnificent 18-hole courses that are set in over 240 acres of Nottinghamshire countryside, just 6 miles from the city centre. We are looking for a Financial Controller to take responsibility for all areas of finance. Working 3 to 4 days a week, you will have an eye for detail and be used to working to tight deadlines. You will manage a part-time Accounts Clerk so it is essential that you have a 'hands-on' approach to work and a 'Can-do' and proactive attitude. Leading the Finance team, you will be responsible for all finances P&L, cash, payroll, membership payments, client invoicing, supplier payments, and overseeing stock takes and produce the relevant and requested reports in a timely manner. The Financial Controller is a member of the Senior Management team and works closely with the Management to ensure that they have a good understanding of the relevant budgets/figures. Experience of Retail and/or catering hospitality businesses and Excel and Word, EPOS systems, stock/inventory systems would be a distinct advantage. Candidate profile: CCAB accounting qualification; good all-round knowledge of accounting including aspects of taxation; commercial outlook to problems; good communication skills and ability to build working relationships; excellent organisational and time management skills; able to start immediately.
