Job description
We are currently working with an innovative & rapidly growing Clean Energy company based in North Yorkshire. Founded in 2001, they now employ 22 people directly and over 100 indirectly, with the development of 3 new plants in process currently. They’re currently looking for a Financial Controller to join their team, reporting directly to the FD, with a broad range of responsibilities across generalist accounting, corporate funding, JV accounting & company secretarial activities. General finance: sales ledger, purchase ledger & cash book maintenance; VAT returns; manage payroll & payroll returns with 3rd party contractor; manage payroll expense claims; preparation of budgets & forecasts; preparation of management accounts; preparation of financial accounts for audit. Corporate funding: liaising with FD/MD concerning Bank funding arrangements; documents relating to bank funding; documentation relating to shareholder funding; documentation & relationships relating to grant funding; preparation & update of business plans. JV accounting: maintain accounting records for JV companies; maintain statutory records for JV companies; preparation & update of business plans; bank funding arrangement. Company secretarial: maintain statutory records; file annual returns; file statutory notices. This is a small & growing operation, so you can expect the role to be diverse one and there will be plenty of new challenges as the company continues to build. You can expect to be working very closely with the Managing Director & FD and along with other Senior Managers of the business. You’ll need to be a qualified Accountant, able to demonstrate solid finance experience with strong knowledge of financial & management accounting, VAT returns & audit and ideally you’ll have some experience dealing with JV companies & the financial support around that. It would also be very helpful to be able to demonstrate an understanding of company funding issues & to have managed relationships with banks.
