Job description
We are recruiting a proven Commercial Divisional Financial Controller from a project based background, who will have national coverage within a global business, the FC will act as primary point of contact for the Divisional MD on all financial matters (£70m t/o), providing proactive advice and support. Leading a business focussed Finance team to provide financial support, advice and governance to the business unit. Principal duties: reporting through the Finance function, exercise appropriate governance within the BU to safeguard the financial position; management of the Finance staff working in the BU and the Finance Shared Service function, to ensure accurate recording and control of the BU's finances; support win work activities including supply of information for pre-qualifications and tenders, specifically linking with Business Analyst(s) to assess economic & market trends; responsible for the application of the correct accounting standards, systems and processes in the BU, including reconciliation of records, authorisation and auctioning of payments and system permissions. Requirements: experience of company valuations leading to acquisition due diligence; accountancy professional qualification - ACA, ACCA, ACMA; a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of financial and management accounting practices and experience of practical application of this in a complex business environment; experience in a project based industry; good knowledge of International GAAP.
