Job description
Marc Daniels is currently recruiting on behalf of a large Hi-tech organisation based within Surrey for a Financial Controller. There are various responsibilities ranging from defined monthly requirements, plus ownership of numerous ad hoc projects with differing scopes, multiple contact points, levels of complexity and deadlines. The purpose of this role is to ensure the function runs efficiently, closing gaps during the day-to-day approach. The Financial Controller will be required to cover HoA role responsibilities, with the ability to step in and cover all month end responsibilities as well as financial support to new business units as added, including MES and COSMOS. Reporting and development of high cost analysis is also essential for the Financial Controller to complete. They will take on a mix of finance (statutory) and business partnering (commercial) responsibilities, with tasks being aligned and shared with the Finance Manager to establish best practice, synergies and cover. They must be efficient when adding value throughout the functions, possess a challenging approach and assist in re-defining processes to attain benchmark levels. Furthermore, the role will entail working closely with the EHQ teams on the monthly submissions, in conjunction with ESPIRIT and ADSTAR reconciliations. The ideal candidate for this role would be a qualified Accountant with experience of working within a commercial blue chip environment. They must possess strong Financial UK GAAP and IFRS statutory reporting as well as Audit experience. They must be able to communicate effectively with the ability to build and maintain relationships, both internally and externally. The successful candidate would be proficient when using such systems as SAP and Microsoft Excel.
