Job description
A Financial Controller is required by my PLC client based in Hamilton, Scotland. My client is looking for a hands-on Financial Controller to manage the month end/year end process, ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations are reviewed and have full back up, to ensure that budgeting/re-forecasting is delivered to group timetable. You will manage and motivate 2 Finance Managers based in Hamilton and 2 in London, plus interim staff working on clear-up projects. The successful Financial Controller will be a fully qualified Accountant who has strong systems skills and has a proven track record working on similar projects. You must have experience of working within multi entity complex organisations and have a strong commercial awareness and be experienced in mapping and improving processes. This is a business unit of a large PLC forming part of the business services, the largest business group within the PLC organisation, one of the UK's foremost facilities service companies. It is split into a number of divisions including the projects business where this role is focused. The turnover in 2009 for the projects business was c £95m. The company and the Finance function has undergone enormous change in the last two years with two substantial acquisitions and aggressive growth plans (turnover, profit and cash).
