Job description
Our client is a US owned Business Services organisation based in York. There is an immediate opportunity for a qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) Accountant to join their business for an interim term to provide hand over and cover until a new permanent appointment is made. The role will include: ensure management accounts are produced accurately and on-time per US deadlines; take ownership for P&L and explain variances to FD; ability to explain variances to other senior management, eg front office; ensure audit file is produced in full each month with all balance sheet accounts reconciled for FD sign off; prepare AOP/forecasts for all entities including alignment with purchasing/front office management, ability to explain variances against prior forecasts and actuals; ability to prepare SMR/forecast slides to a high standard with clear understanding; promote and support enhanced service to countries and stakeholders. To consider financial risk in business and address high risk areas with FD. Manage and ensure VAT reporting deadlines for all registrations are met. Proactively manage reporting team and review targets. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong people management capabilities, knowledge of SAP as well as excellent Excel and communication skills. Experience working within the 'Big 4' would be preferred although is not essential.
