Job description
My client which is a well established organisation is recruiting for an Accountant with good UK GAAP, IFRS regulatory reporting knowledge. The team the role sits within is primarily responsible for the preparation and audit of the statutory accounts of the various UK entities. The primary services provided are: statutory financial reporting, taxation and VAT, UK, IFRS, UK GAAP. This is a great opportunity for a first step out of Practice. The jobholder is responsible for assisting with the preparation and filing of UK statutory accounts, corporation tax, VAT returns. Responsibilities include: preparation and presentation of audit files and financial statements under UK GAAP to External Auditors; responding to technical accounting questions raised by Auditors and writing of accounting papers where required; dealing with External Auditors’ requirements including gathering of audit evidence and bringing audits to a satisfactory completion and sign off within pre-set timelines; preparation of corporation tax provisions of UK entities and related accounting entries; preparation of UK quarterly returns of VAT, related accounting entries, annual adjustments and VAT reconciliation reviews; month end close procedures including consolidation entries; review/preparation of certain month end journals. To be considered, you will be a qualified Accountant with audit and accounts preparation experience. You will have strong technical accounting knowledge, with UK GAAP/IFRS deemed essential.
