Job description

Fasthosts, the UK’s foremost Web Hosting company, is one of the fastest growing Technology businesses in the UK. We have now embarked on the next phase of our growth, by strengthening our Channel program and expanding the business internationally. Fasthosts has a successful track record and proven business model in providing high value, award winning products.

We need you, a qualified Accountant, to help us deliver our company reports and through your commercial awareness, support our other wider commercial and financial responsibilities. The main focus of the role will be the preparation of monthly management accounts, reporting to our parent company and general financial reporting.

Another key part of your role will be providing variance analysis, KPIs and statistical reports to every area of the business and across all Fasthosts group companies. There is likely to be involvement in many companywide projects.

Working with the FC and the CFO, this is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a dynamic modern business in this expanding Industry sector. You will be able to work with industry experts and have the ability to make a real difference to our financial reporting, accounting, budgeting and through your commercial awareness, our profitability.

This role is a full-time 9 month fixed term contract to provide maternity cover.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of all group reporting and variance analysis.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts for all Fasthosts group companies including variance commentary.
  • Detailed analysis of cost centres and associated trends.
  • Work closely with the Revenue Preparation team to ensure the revenues are reported and accounted for correctly in terms of statutory requirements and SAP.
  • Critically review reporting requirements and processes and design and develop suitable reports.
  • Create and maintain variance/trend reports for every area of the business.
  • Work closely with the Budget team to assist in the preparation of the year end budgets and mid-year forecasts, providing data on revenue, trends and average spend by contract.
  • Meeting regularly with the Executive team and Line Managers to review reporting packs.
  • Assist with the year end statutory accounts and audit.
  • Ad hoc reporting requirements that may arise from all areas of the business.
  • Assisting the Finance team as required especially around month/quarter/year end.

Essential skills/experience:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified.
  • Prior experience in preparing monthly management accounts.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel.
  • Exceptionally high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal are essential.
  • Ability to cope within a high volume environment.
  • Hands on attitude and team player.
  • Self starter who is flexible to assist with all finance related tasks.

Desirable skills/experience:

  • UK GAAP & IFRS knowledge desirable.
  • PQE preferable.
  • SAP experience and advanced Excel skills would be beneficial.
  • Exposure to SME Technology environment is preferable.
