Job description
The role will be evolving with the business and would suit a qualified Accountant with experience of working within a group reporting role or someone looking for their move into a commercial environment from a larger firm. You will be responsible for managing the processes to calculate and monitor Solvency for the group, to meet the group's reporting requirements in respect of Intra Group Limits, to produce balance sheet analysis and value at risk returns and to provide subject matter expert input to finance projects. You will: monitor and report on the Group's Solvency on a monthly basis, produce the year end Group Solvency return for submission to the FSA, and provide data to for the completion of the companies annual FSA returns; monitor and settle intercompany trading balances on a monthly basis so that potentially inadmissible assets in the companies are minimised; review goodwill and investment in subsidiaries for impairment, identify and report potential impairments in line with the group timetable; manage the Intra Group Limits regime prescribed by group, coordinate the production of the annual budget, monitor exposures, report excesses to group and arrange changes to approved limits as required; prepare and submit quarterly value at risk returns in line with group requirements; analyse the balance sheet and prepare commentary to explain, what drives movements in the balance sheet, and provide commentary on movements in yields on interest bearing assets and liabilities for the average balance sheet; provide technical and accounting support to finance projects, particularly Solvency 2 and project river; technical: group financial reporting/financial reporting; data analysis, interpretation and deployment; financial and actuarial acumen; financial management.
