Job description
A leading Manufacturing company based in the Ipswich area is seeking an interim General Ledger Accountant to join the successful Finance team: This is an excellent opportunity to work for a leading local business who is the largest producer and distributor within their field in the UK, employing more than 900 people throughout the organisation. The candidate will be reporting to the Group Financial Accountant and working alongside the Purchase Ledger Supervisor and Payroll Coordinator, you will manage, inspire and motivate three direct reports, supervising the performance of their tasks. This role is suited to someone who is looking to make his or her mark on a business. You will be responsible for delivering month end final reporting by workday 5 and ensure the financials, including the integrity of general ledger, meets all statutory & company obligations and policies. You will drive change and efficiencies where required, whilst ensuring that day-to-day tasks are completed to a high standard. The Successful candidate will: be either AAT qualified and looking to studying CIMA/ACCA/part-qualified CIMA/ACCA or qualified ACCA/CIMA; possess an excellent foundation in technical skills, encompassing financial accounting and general ledger control; have refined analytical skills; have a keen understanding of business processes/deadlines; be able to communicate clearly at all levels within the organisation; intermediate to advance Excel skills; SAP knowledge will be beneficial. The role is covering a candidate on maternity leave.
