Job description

Lead change, drive performance. An exciting new opportunity for a Group Finance Director has arisen following a major merger announcement in the North West Housing sector. Harvest Housing Group and Arena Housing Group are merging with effect from 1 April 2012, creating a new Social Housing organisation consisting of 32,000 properties across the North West, Cumbria, Staffordshire and Yorkshire. This merger has created the need to recruit a Group Finance Director. Based at a new Group office in the Warrington area, reporting directly to the Executive Director Resources, you will have responsibility for the newly merged Group Finance function and will define and implement financial strategy. You will have a close working relationship with the Board. Highlights of the role include leading the financial transition post-merger, development of MI systems, leadership of a large team through change, strategic and long-term planning, as well as investment and tax planning. Fantastic opportunity to lead a complex organisation through a significant period of change. experience and skills: essential – fully qualified member of a recognised accounting body (ie ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA); substantial role experience in a range of situations operating at Finance Director or Director/Senior Manager (Finance) level in the social housing sector; successful relationship-building, internally with own staff teams and staff from other areas of the business, and externally with investors, funders, banks and other financial institutions; demonstrate sound finance/resources management and effective fulfilment of regulatory finance requirements; effective provision and management of financial management information systems (MIS/IT) which supports and drives forward business performance; direct involvement with business planning, financial management, business measurement and continuous improvement; strong track record in providing financial support in a social housing sector organisation.
