Job description
An outstanding opportunity has arisen to join a market leading FTSE listed business, which continues to expand within the retail sector as a Group Financial Controller. This instantly recognisable household name business requires a technically strong ideally qualified accountant to manage a team of 15 within a challenging and ever changing environment. The key responsibilities of the role will include identifying opportunities to maximise cash flow, supporting new business initiatives, providing commercial support working closely with the CFO and Senior Management to ensure an effective financial control environment, formulate strategy plans, liaising closely with IT to develop financial processes and improve current systems in place. With 3 direct reports and a large team you will be responsible for all financial reporting requirements including statutory accounts, management accounts and transaction processing as well as being instrumental in providing guidance regarding financial systems requirements. In order to be successful within this role you will ideally be a qualified accountant with significant experience. You will have proven experience within technical roles, ideally in a blue chip organisation and demonstrate previous examples of process improvement and driving change throughout the business. The ideal candidate will have strong systems exposure and excellent leadership skills with previous experience of managing, coaching and developing large teams.
