Job description
My client is a Local Government organisation based in the north-west and is seeking a Head of Audit to join its busy team. Reporting to the Chief Auditor, you will be responsible for supporting the Audit team with the periodic maintenance, integrity and accuracy of the council’s financial and operational internal controls. As a current Auditor you will be able to easily demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the technical issues and practices surrounding the business assurance and compliance process. Your primary objective will be to ensure that all the necessary statutory and legal requirements are achieved, documented and adhered to. Essential to this role is an audit/compliance/risk background coupled with strong communication and IT skills. The ideal candidate will have both previous experience within the above role and have worked within a Local Government environment.
