Job description
An interim Head of Finance is required to support a NHS organisation, which is strengthening its Finance team whilst it goes through a significant period of transition. The role will involve supporting the Finance team and ensuring all statutory accounts and returns comply with current legislation and are delivered within set timescales. In addition you will be responsible for validating the submission of financial monitoring returns, identify risks to resource limits and review accountancy controls. You will also ensure the provision of an effective management accounting service which will include budget management and regular reporting of financial performance and providing monthly board reports. Strong communication skills will be essential, as you will be responsible for providing sound financial advice and support to a range of internal and external stakeholders, to include Senior Managers and clinicians. To be considered for this opportunity it is essential you are a suitably qualified Accountant, have knowledge of FIMs and have a strong understanding of NHS accountancy practices. Demonstrable experience of setting up new systems to support evolving structures and an awareness of transitional planning would be advantageous.
