Leonard Cheshire Disability supports over 21,000 disabled people in the UK and works in 52 countries. We campaign for change and provide innovative services that give disabled people the opportunity to live life their way. In the UK, the charity is responsible for the award winning Creature Discomforts campaign – www.creaturediscomforts.org – which uses animations to highlight some of the barriers disabled people encounter.
The Finance team at Leonard Cheshire Disability is highly visible and influential and plays a key role in helping the charity transform strategy into reality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working closely with Directors and senior managers to help determine and implement value added financial initiatives that are aligned to business strategy.
- Motivating, coaching and mentoring both a head office and regional finance team, building a culture of self improvement and harnessing the desire to make an impact.
- Budget setting, monitoring and reviewing with the FD and wider management team.
- Overseeing the preparation of the year end statutory accounts and Payroll function.
The appointed candidate will be a fully qualified and highly capable finance professional who ideally has spent at least some of their working life in a large and complex commercial environment. An intelligent, ambitious and self-confident graduate, you will be able to demonstrate first class leadership, communication and influencing skills coupled with an inclusive and consultative style.
