Job description
Our client, a well-known household name, seeks a Head of Finance for one of its key high growth divisions to provide high quality financial reporting, forecasting, performance evaluation and cost control across the business. As a member of the Leadership team, the role is also responsible for ensuring the business strikes a balance between OPEX efficiency, customer value and achieving ambitious growth plans. Core accountabilities: end to end accountability for all aspects of P&L performance, driving improvements to underlying cost performance and financial control quality; providing business support to all teams within the business to drive value-based decision-making (eg technology developments, retention initiative, product innovation); accountability for all analysis of cash, revenue recognition and debt and their interaction with other parts of the P&L. Applicants must be able to demonstrate: strong commercial acumen; track record in delivering strong business improvements; ability to critically analyse problems quickly and arrive at actionable solutions; a record of having worked in business finance as more than just a finance professional, but making a wider business contribution; ability to effect changes to the control environment in what is a mature business with complex processes; ability to present with confidence and clarity to senior management; leadership in developing/motivating a team across different locations. Note this role requires regular travel to Edinburgh and occasionally to Manchester.
