Job description

Our success will be your KPI

RNID is the largest charity working to change the world for the 9 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK. We have reshaped our strategy and are now putting in place the management structure to deliver it on a nationwide scale. Our services cover social care, employment, training, communication support and volunteering with a combined value of more than £20m. As a full member of the Senior Management team in the Individual Services directorate, you’ll be involved in all aspects of running our business. This is a newly created role, reporting to the Executive Director, in which you’ll be given the freedom to shape the role for maximum effectiveness.

Your challenge will be to lead the provision of business, financial and contract management support to our service teams. Based in either Bath or London but with a UK wide remit, you’ll set in place robust frameworks for everything from income collection and service costing to business analysis and financial reporting. You’ll also help Managers develop budgets and KPIs.

To make an impact, you must be able to take a strategic and pragmatic approach in business, be creative, analytical and commercially focused, with an accountancy or business-related qualification. Relationship building skills are equally important, as is the ability to present and convey complex information to all different kinds of audiences. You’ll also need a background in developing performance-reporting frameworks and KPIs, along with a willingness to travel and, of course, a clear commitment to our work.

You’ll need to satisfactorily clear a Criminal Records and Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA) check by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB).

Closing date: 20 July 2009.
