The museum is currently seeking an exceptional Head of Finance and IT to play a central role in the organisation as it enters an exciting phase in its development.
Reporting to and expected to deputise for the Deputy Director of the museum in the management of the museum and its commercial arm (Design Museum Enterprises), your responsibilities will extend to overseeing the long-term financial and IT strategies of the organisation with input into the commercial strategy for the museum. Other key duties include managing the Finance and IT team, coordinating budgets and preparing forecasts and statutory accounts and overseeing IT operations, security and risk management. You will also have company secretary duties for the museum and be tasked with overseeing the financial aspects of a high profile project to move the Design Museum from its current location to Kensington High Street.
To succeed in the post, you must be a professionally qualified Accountant with outstanding technical accounting skills and advanced knowledge of financial systems. You will have significant post qualified experience ideally in the Charity sector, whilst an interest in the arts is advantageous. You will be an exceptional leader of teams and developer of individuals, well-organised with high standards and the communication skills to build relationships with senior, non-financial stakeholders. Your energetic personality and flexible approach will ensure that you will relish the chance to take on additional responsibilities as necessary.
