Job description
Our client, a large pan-European organisation that has experienced impressive year on year growth, seeks a qualified senior financial accounting professional to head the team in Norwich. Set in a complex, multi-currency environment, you will ensure the reported results comply with IFRS and group accounting policies and reflect a true picture of the business. In addition, you will ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are performed on a satisfactory and timely basis and that all the risks and opportunities in the balance sheet are fully understood and documented. The role will be the chief liaison point for finance professional advisors in the company including those providing audit, tax and accountancy services. You will control the budget for finance professional fees and will negotiate fees on behalf of the company. The role also has responsibility for ensuring compliance with Government authorities and on time filings of the necessary documents. The role will determine the best structure for operating in Europe, ensuring compliance costs for VAT and other regulatory requirements at a minimum cost. The person will manage the Legal entity rationalisation project with a goal of one trading legal entity in the UK and as few other legal entities as possible. It is also responsible for all legal entity restructuring. You will be supported by a Financial Accounting team in Norwich and you will be directly responsible for the management and motivation of this team. Requirements: qualified Chartered Accountant with PQE; experience of similar work in large multinational or experience as Manager of large multinational clients in profession covering many of the facets of the job; up-to-date on accounting technical matters and good IFRS knowledge.
