Job description
A Head of Financial Accounting is required for a rapidly growing housing association with a turnover in excess of £100m. With plans to double in size over the next three years and with a widespread geographic focus across the south-east, this position has arisen through an internal promotion. Key responsibilities include: provide and oversee financial accounting services to all users within the organisation and external stakeholders; provide direct management and control of financial data processing services including rent accounting, purchase ledger, sales ledger, cashbooks, payroll accounting, nominal ledger and balance sheet reconciliations; work closely with the business systems department in carrying out the relevant Finance systems changes including the implementation of the purchase order processing system; provide strong leadership and direction for staff to encourage a culture of high performance, continuous improvements, customer focused service and developing effective working relationships with other finance teams and the key customers. The successful person will be qualified with a strong financial accounting and internal controls background. You will have previously held positions where staff management has been a core focus and will be a natural ‘people person’ when being responsible for the leadership and development of teams.
Please note, it is unlawful to employ a person in a UK-based job who does not have permission to live and work in the UK. You should make yourself aware of how immigration laws apply to your situation before applying for any jobs. (Refer: Home Office Website).
