Job description

My international utilities organisation is looking to recruit a Financial Analyst within their IS department. The post holder will provide additional financial analysis support to information services during the early implementation stages of IS transformation in the UK. The key activities of the role are as follows: ensure that the accounting treatment for all expenditure under the IS transformation programme is correct and in line with company and regional accounting policies and practices; ensure that IS transformation accruals and prepayments are processed correctly in line with overall month end close process; develop and maintain an appropriate set of management reports showing up-to-date spend compared to annual and project budgets, latest forecasts etc. Knowledge & experience requirements: technical accounting - good working knowledge of latest accounting standards (IFRS); financial systems - experience and knowledge of major accounting systems in large scale organisations; (ideally SAP hands-on experience); financial analysis skills - experience of analysing large and complex data sources and developing summaries and commentaries to communicate and interpret financial results, risks, opportunities and financial issues.
